About
Founder Andy Kershenblatt started ExtraStep Films in 1987 with his brother Eric. Andy knew he wanted to be involved in video production since he was 5 and saw a video camera in his classroom. “Our school is on TV!!” he said to anyone who would listen. He followed his two older brothers to the TV Crew at Atlantic City High School, where he was thrilled to work the broadcast cameras at the March of Dimes annual telethon. Andy went on to intern at WPIX-TV (New York, NY), before being hired as a news videographer at WMGM-TV (Atlantic City, NJ.) Eric left the company in 1995 to pursue a career in law. Not sure why he wanted to actually work for a living, but off he went.
Andy’s beautiful bride Lissette started “working” at ExtraStep Films in 2018, where she became the lead editor. She worked second camera on about 20 projects before filming events solo in 2019.
The Kershenblatts love traveling the country several times a year to meet new clients and see different parts of the world.
Andy and Lissette lived in NJ until 2022, when they moved to the warmer climes of Arizona. They are proud parents to Jessica, Rachel and Jake (and a pet parent to their dog Duke). They look forward to producing awesome recital videos for you, your studio and families to watch and cherish for years and years.
